11. 51 little pleasures to Brighten up Your Day

Posted by "Positive Thinking" by Raj | 11:44 PM | 18 comments »

A little trick I like to use to make my days much more pleasant is to find little, simple pleasures and sprinkle them throughout my day.

They’re not big things, but each simple pleasure can translate to a great day if you use them right.

So in the morning, I might have a cup of coffee, and sip it slowly to enjoy it fully. I might read a gripping novel, and revel in the world of fiction. I might watch the sun come up, and marvel at the world in pastel hues.

In the shower, closing my eyes, and just let the cool water run over me

Yeah, You get the idea — these are little things, and don’t really cost a thing (or not much, anyway), but they are tremendously gratifying
. I’ve just described some of the things I might do to start off my day, but the possibilities are endless, and can be done throughout the day.

I thought it would be fun to compile a list of simple pleasures, to give you all some ideas of what I mean, and to spark other ideas of your own. Of course, you can probably come up with a thousand more, and it should also be noted that one person’s pleasures aren’t always pleasures for others.

  1. Walking barefoot on grass.
  2. Listening to good music in the car.
  3. Taking a long, relaxing shower.
  4. Iced Tea.

Very nice post. I love the way little, positive things each day add up to big, positive changes.

For me, working on my crochet projects is an example. One stitch at a time, and before I know it, I've got a beautiful afghan or shawl to keep someone warm and happy.

Btw, it's been fun getting to know you on BlogCatalog. Good luck with it!

For me I think I should stop multi-tasking and enjoy my activities.

Ever since I started blogging, I have not watched my football game like I used to. I would be having the laptop in front of me while the football game goes on in the "background".

I think I should take things easy and just sit and relax and watch my game....and enjoying it.

Yep, self care is the word! I enjoy the time I spend with my horses, even just going in to the field to say hello and give them all a big hug is a fun and relaxing thing to do. And of course, as you can read in my blog ... drying my laundry in the sun!

Excellent post. I would add to your list of what I do extra...Prepare a list of people to be paid back if I can who have done small favors to me, say even smiled at me, a sort of a log of gratitude!

I really like those ideas. In a world where it's go, go, go, we forget to stop and just look a little pleasures.

Sometimes, small things cheer up our lives and can lead to our great achievements.

I like to spend time looking at bonsai trees.
